1. Overview
Global Marine Platform is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers. Depending on what you purchase, different refund and return rules apply. This policy covers:
- Contact tokens (digital product sold by Global Marine Platform)
- Vendor listing credits (digital product sold by Global Marine Platform)
- Equipment and parts (physical products sold by independent vendors)
- Vessel sales and charter (facilitated introductions, not sold by us)
This policy complies with the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (Angrerettloven) and the Norwegian Consumer Purchase Act (Forbrukerkjøpsloven).
2. Contact Tokens
2.1 What Tokens Are
Contact tokens are a digital credit that unlocks the direct contact details (email, phone) of a vessel seller or charter owner. One token unlocks one contact. The contact information is delivered immediately and irrevocably upon use.
2.2 Unused Tokens
If you have purchased tokens but not yet used them, you have the right to a full refund within 14 days of purchase, in accordance with the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (Angrerettloven). To request a refund, contact us at [email address] with your order number.
2.3 Used Tokens
Once a token is used and the contact information has been revealed, the digital service has been fully delivered. Used tokens are non-refundable. By using a token, you acknowledge and accept that the right of withdrawal no longer applies to that token, as the digital content has been fully provided with your prior express consent.
2.4 What Tokens Do Not Guarantee
A token provides access to a seller’s or owner’s contact details. We do not guarantee that the seller or owner will respond to your enquiry, that the information is still current, or that a transaction will result. A non-response from a seller is not grounds for a token refund, as the service (revealing contact details) has been delivered.
3. Vendor Listing Credits
3.1 Unused Credits
If you have purchased listing credits but not yet used them, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
3.2 Used Credits
Once a listing credit has been used to publish a listing, it is non-refundable. The digital service has been fully delivered at the point the listing goes live.
4. Equipment and Parts
4.1 Sold by Vendors, Not by Us
Equipment and spare parts listed on Global Marine Platform are sold by independent vendors. When you buy equipment through the Platform, your contract of sale is with the vendor, not with Global Marine Platform. The vendor is responsible for order fulfilment, shipping, product quality, and handling returns and refunds.
4.2 Vendor Return Policies
Each vendor sets their own return and refund policy, which is available on the vendor’s store page. Please review the vendor’s policy before making a purchase. If you have questions about returns or refunds for a specific product, contact the vendor directly through the Platform.
4.3 Your Statutory Rights
If you are a consumer purchasing from a professional vendor, your statutory rights under Norwegian and EU law apply regardless of the vendor’s individual return policy. These include:
- 14-day right of withdrawal (Angrerettloven): For distance purchases, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason. The goods must be returned in substantially the same condition as received. The vendor must refund the purchase price within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.
- Defective products (Forbrukerkjøpsloven): If equipment is defective or does not match the product description, you have the right to request repair, replacement, a price reduction, or a full refund from the vendor. The statutory warranty period is 2 years (5 years for products designed to last significantly longer).
These rights cannot be limited or excluded by the vendor’s own return policy.
4.4 How to Return Equipment
- Contact the vendor directly through the Platform or via the contact details on the vendor’s store page.
- State your reason for return (withdrawal, defect, wrong item, etc.).
- Follow the vendor’s instructions for returning the item.
- If you are exercising your right of withdrawal, you are responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the vendor’s policy states otherwise.
4.5 If the Vendor Does Not Respond
If you are unable to resolve a return or refund issue directly with the vendor, contact us at [email address] with your order number and details. We will make reasonable efforts to facilitate communication between you and the vendor, but we are not liable for the vendor’s products, shipping, or refund obligations.
5. Vessel Sales
Global Marine Platform does not sell vessels. We provide a platform where vessel sellers and buyers can find each other. All vessel sales are private transactions between buyer and seller. We do not process vessel sale payments, hold escrow, or act as a broker. Accordingly, we do not offer refunds or handle returns for vessel sales.
Any disputes regarding a vessel purchase must be resolved directly between buyer and seller.
6. Charter
Global Marine Platform does not provide charter services. We facilitate introductions between vessel owners and potential charterers. All charter agreements, payments, cancellation terms, and refund conditions are agreed directly between the vessel owner (or their representative) and the charterer. We do not process charter payments or offer refunds related to charter arrangements.
Any disputes regarding a charter must be resolved directly between the vessel owner and the charterer.
7. Maritime Jobs
Job listings on the Platform are posted by independent employers. There is no payment to Global Marine Platform for applying to jobs, and no refund situation applies. Any disputes regarding employment must be resolved between the job seeker and the employer.
8. How to Request a Refund
For refunds on contact tokens or listing credits purchased from Global Marine Platform:

- We will process eligible refunds within 14 days of receiving your request
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method (Stripe or PayPal)
